Getting Started.
Simplifying the process for you.
We fully understand that starting a new project can be quite a task - time consuming, overwhelming at times, and a serious financial investment. Sure, you've found some amazing inspo photos on online, maybe even on Houzz, and of course, you've pinned everything on your Pinterest board! So, now what? Where do you start? How do you find a qualified contractor? What is the financial investment? So many questions! Well, good news is, we're here to help and simplify the process for you!
OUR PROCESS
-
Let's get started! It's best practice to use a licensed and insured Landscape Contractor. Silicon Valley Landscaping Services, Inc. (SVLS) is a fully-insured and licensed Landscape Contractor. SVLS has both California C27-Landscaping and B - General Building Contractor's Licenses.

Next, lets chat! Give us a call at (408) 891-2409, email us at info@svlandscapingservices.com, or fill out this quick form (click here) to set-up an on-site consultation to let us know what you need, what you're thinking, and where you need help!
-
What's next? After our consultation/meeting, we'll provide a detailed estimate for your review. After reviewing the quote, we can discuss more options (additions, revisions, or even cutting back, if necessary). If the estimate looks good, we'll move forward with a contract and schedule your project! Completion, will of course, vary on the scope of your project, but we'll get you on our schedule and work with you to complete your project!
FAQs
-
Do I need architectural plans?
If you have them, great! We can provide you a detailed estimate based on the plans, a site visit, and meeting with you. If not, no worries! We can meet with you on-site to discuss what you're looking for and provide an estimate based on the site meeting. (Please note, if you would like to or are planning on getting architectural plans, we can provide an estimate based on the plans, a site visit, and meeting with you once your plans are finalized.)
-
Do I need a landscape designer?
If you have a landscape designer, we will work with them on your project! If not, we will work with you to determine what you're looking for and how we can help achieve it. To give you an idea, we work with landscape designers on about 30% of our projects and directly with our clients on about 70% of our projects - all with success!
-
Do you have a plant specialist?
Yes! If you are looking for assistance/guidance/help with plants - types/varieties/placement, we've got just what you need! We have a great in-house plant specialist who collaborates with us on our projects. Our plant specialist is highly experienced and will work with you to create a beautiful, lush landscape environment! Our plant specialist is especially helpful to our clients who need direction on selecting the right plants for their new space and don't have a landscape designer.
-
How quickly can you start my project?
Scheduling depends on our current backlog. We will start your project as soon as possible, and we will provide you with updates, especially, if there are any changes (sometimes, we can even start earlier than expected). Additionally, please be aware that there may be delays with certain materials.
-
I received multiple estimates for my project. Why is there such a difference in pricing?
Good question - this is one of our most frequently asked questions. First, if you are not using a licensed and insured contractor, pricing will likely be a lot less, but with more risk. Do your other estimates include all the work quoted on our estimate? It's important to make sure everything you are expecting is written in the estimate, not just the general scope. Are the types of material and brands call out in the estimate? There may be a difference in type, brand, and quality of material being used. Are the other companies local? If not, pricing tends to be less from "out-of-town" companies who come "in-town" for a quick job, especially in Silicon Valley. We've heard plenty of stories about work not being finished, poor quality (yes, these companies often "pick-up" workers to work on your job), and difficulties contacting these companies. This helps explain cheap labor rates, too. We actually have to finish jobs (and sometime even start completely over) for "work" by these types of companies.
If everything looks the same, the decision will most likely come down to the quality, experience, and service you are expecting and have received. SVLS is a highly professional Landscape Contractor committed to quality workmanship and excellent customer service. We have partnered with our amazing clients throughout the greater Bay Area for more than 20+ years to create and build inspiring, innovative, and sustainable outdoor living spaces and landscape environment
